Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept – Next gen Honda NSX previewed in Detroit!

Wow, that was fast! Heck, the first generation NSX first went into production only about… 17 years ago. And it’s not over yet till we see the actual production version of Honda’s stunning NSX successor. See, the car in the picture is, according to Honda own word’s, “a concept that provides a glimpse at the next generation Acura exotic sports car”. Unfortunately that’s the only thing we know about the unexotically named, Acura “Advanced Sports Car Concept”. We’ll have more on the NSX concept closer to the opening date of the Detroit Show in January.

If you’re a bit confused about the name, we remind you that while the rest of the world knows the NSX as a Honda, in the US, it came under the name of Acura.

Honda to debut Accord Coupe Concept in Detroit

While Honda has yet to give out any specific details about this undoubtedly sexy concept –apart from the fact that it’ll make its public debut in January at the North American Auto Show, according to sources, it previews the styling direction that Honda will follow for the next Accord coupe that will go on sale in 2008 as a 2009 model. Let’s hope that the actual concept will look as good as this teaser sketch.

LA Show: Acura Advanced Sedan Concept

Ts, ts naughty, naughty! We’ve got to hand it to Acura for their creativity and originality in the design of the Advanced Sedan Concept which looks nothing like the Cadillac Sixteen Concept!

But then again, that’s just our opinion cause according to John Mendel, senior vice president, auto operations Acura, “the Advanced Sedan Concept illustrates Acura's commitment to modern design and cutting-edge style. With our advanced design team taking a significant role in shaping future vehicle design, we can expect upcoming products to reflect this progressive, forward-thinking styling." We’ll just leave you to decide.

LA Show: Honda REMIX Concept previews future CRX!

At first we just thought this was just another concept. But always check out the fine print because you might find a tiny detail that’s not in the press release. So here we have three little letters “CRX” written on the rear end of the right-hand sketch seen above!

Although these three magic letters are absent from the actual concept someone’s pencil slipped. Or perhaps it didn’t. At any rate, the Remix Concept previewed at L.A.. is according to Honda, “a two-seat sports car focused on agile and fun-to-drive performance that can also provide exceptional practicality as a daily driver.” Hey, now isn’t that what the CRX was claimed to be? Coincidence? I think not!

Here’s a little blurb from the Press Release: The REMIX Small Sport Concept is a product of the Honda R&D Americas, Inc., Advanced Design Studio in Southern California. Purely a design concept, the vehicle is fashioned around a front-wheel drive small car platform with a 4cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. A sport suspension, along with aggressive tires and brakes, further supplement its performance side.

Honda Civic Hybrid Sports - Paris Show Aftermath

Obviously, not one of the Paris Show stars, but nevertheless, Honda's Civic Hybrid Sports Concept caught the attention of a few press people thanks to it's tasteful bodykit. Based on the 2007 Civic IMA, the concept was fitted with deep front and rear spoilers and side skirts, with the body finished in a special blue paint, set off by chrome finish seven-spoke alloy wheels and exhaust tailpipes.

Likewise, the distinctive interior used a stark contrast of black and white as a colour scheme, with bucket seats providing the necessary sport touch. Nothing new underneath though which is pity as the bodykit looked really nice on the Civic. Although this was dubbed as a concept, we could see the aggressive bodykit in a future Civic Type S in Europe. - See the 220Hp+ Honda Civic Type Sedan that will go in production in 2007 here : Carscoop
