My role model: Maria Mercedes Duran De Villalobos

Maria Mercedes Duran De Villalobos (born April 28, 1953, Bogot�, Colombia) is one of the highest position's teachers of the Sabana University in the nursing college. She has had a life full of experience and knowledge because she has worked in many places and important occupations. Also, she is an expert in the epistemology of care in nursing of Colombia and she has written many articles about the professional nursing and its history.

Her career started in 1966 when she began to study nursing in National University of Colombia. She always shined  for her intelligence and creative mind during the undergraduate and the graduate in Boston University. Her favorite topics and axis study are the epistemology, philosophy and qualitative investigations of nursing theories. Her major achievements have been to work in Kellogg's foundation and be the vice rector of National University of Colombia in the decade of 90's. She says that she has done all her dreams and she lives thankful with god for all opportunities that he has given her.

Now, She wants to continue in the education of graduates in Sabana University and write more articles about the nursing's theories, mainly, the Roy adaptation model and the meaning of ''care'' and how develop strategies to make better the nursing in Colombia. This lover of horses, the classic music, the art films and literature is going to write a 2th edition about epistemology and  she will participate as guest in many forums of different American Universities. She hopes that god gives her knowledge, health and resources to continue her   

wanted path and achieve her goals.
