Reading the Wall Street Journal the other day I was shocked to see that Mercedes-Benz announced a recall. Lately, we as consumers have been accustomed to recalls. The most recent mass recall was called by Toyota which has really affected their sales.
The name Mercedes-Benz just states class so how is this recall going to affect their sales. As a consumer, you expect occasional recalls but to me for Mercedes to have a recall it is uncommon and unacceptable. If Mercedes vehicles were the same price as every other manufacturer, I would expect the occasional recall. Since Mercedes stature is so high, I expect Mercedes to be held at a higher level. Having a recall is unacceptable for this company.
Do I expect Mercedes to show a decrease in sale for this recall?
I do not expect Mercedes to show a decrease in sales because of their high stature. Everyone wants to drive a Mercedes and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. What Mercedes needs to make sure of that this recall doesn’t lead to others. This company needs to ensure they are releasing top class automobiles on a continuous basis. If recalls continue, Consumers will start to questions Mercedes quality. I believe that this high class company will learn from their mistakes and show minimal losses for this recall. Other car companies may not have been so fortunate.
